Temporary Tuition Assistance Program (TTAP) for the 2013 – 2014 School Year
TTAP is designed for current returning WNS families who who need limited financial support due to a temporary financial emergency, unemployment or underemployment. TTAP may be able to help in several ways: offering a tuition discount from $500 to $3,000 per child, arranging a customized payment plan, or a combination of the two. TTAP grants, like traditional FA, are need-based and back-up documentation is required. They are awarded for one or two years, after which, if the need is ongoing, the family is encouraged to apply for traditional FA.
Below are FAQ’s about our TTAP program. However, you are always welcome to contact Brad Zacuto, Head of School, or Darlene Fountaine, Director of Admission, to discuss your particular situation at any time.
See below for a downloadable statement of WNS's financial assistance policies and tips for filling our your application. The 2013-14 FA Calendar can also be downloaded.
Should I apply for TTAP if I believe I show too much income to qualify for any financial assistance, yet I struggle making the tuition payments?
Absolutely. There is no harm in applying. The information you provide may help us discover a way to help you manage the cost of a WNS education.
How can TTAP help me better afford a WNS education?
For example, a family with one or more children at WNS who qualifies for a TTAP grant of $1,500 for each child would pay a lower tuition in 2012-13 than they did in 2011-12.

Note: This is only an example; the actual amount of TTAP grants is determined on an individual basis and will typically range between $500-$3,000 per child.
What if I lost my job and believe I could be back at work in a few months but need some help now?
In addition to a TTAP grant, it is also possible to structure a customized tuition payment plan to address a family’s unique cash flow challenges. When your situation changes for the better, you can restructure your payment terms with the Business Office to pay off your tuition.
Will I know if I qualify for TTAP before I must return my 2013-14 re-enrollment contract?
Yes, if you meet the due date for completing the FAST application online by Monday, January 14, 2013 and send back-up documentation to WNS by Friday, January 25 (see next question for details). You will receive notification when WNS issues re-enrollment contracts on February 14.
What steps do I need to take to submit a TTAP application?
(1) Complete your application on the FAST website between Dec. 1 and Jan. 14 by using the link below. The information you enter here will be based on 2012 income and expenses, assets and liabilities.
(2) Complete the 2013 Family Financial Profile form and submit it to WNS, c/o Carol Garvey, Financial Assistance Administrator, by Friday, January 25, 2013. This allows you the opportunity to look forward and report the changes you anticipate, if any, in your family's finances in 2013.
(3) Send a copy of your W-2 or final 2012 pay stub to Mrs. Garvey by Friday, January 25 (if you are not self-employed).
(4) If you are applying for the first time, submit a copy of your 2011 federal tax return, form 1040 and Schedules A-E & SE, as applicable, by Friday, Jan. 25.
(5) You will be required to mail your 2012 federal and CA state tax returns, W-2s and 1099s to FAST no later than Friday, March 1, 2012.
MAKE YOUR TAX APPOINTMENT EARLY!
What if I am divorced or was never married to my child's other parent? All parents/guardians of the applicant child must participate in the above-described FA process: biological and/or step-parents, custodial and non-custodial.
What if I apply late?
Applications completed and back-up received by the above due dates will be considered first. If you do not apply then, but your circumstances change over the coming months, you may submit a late application, and we will do our best to help you. But there is no guarantee that funds will still be available after the initial round of awards.
Is the application process for TTAP awards different than for traditional financial assistance?
No, the steps are the same. The difference is that TTAP awards are capped at $3,000. If you feel that your need for assistance in 2013-14 will be greater than $3,000, please read the Traditional Financial Assistance page.
