The art program at WNS is designed to empower each student with the skills necessary to use and interpret the language that is art with competence and satisfaction, for the benefit of the person and of the community.
At WNS, creating art is as much about the journey as it is about the completed artwork. As you walk the halls at WNS, you will see many, many products of the art process. As much as possible, teachers document and display the process as well. Better yet, visit the school and spend a few minutes in an art classroom and see the process in action.
Our performing arts department aims to provide students with skills necessary for life, such as how to collaborate and effectively communicate ideas and stories, while also stretching their imaginations in order to innovate and problem-solve. Additionally, we expect our students to think critically when they explore the world of theatre, examining and analyzing plays as well as creating their own plays through a variety of dramatic techniques.
WNS's mission is to create a community of lifelong learners that nurtures students from diverse backgrounds to reach their full potential and inspires them to contribute to the world with confidence, creativity, curiosity, conscience and compassion.
